- Houk has come along way in a short span of time, and is one of the first big surprises for the Wolf Pack on National Signing Day. Once a 200-pound senior prospect at diminutive Exeter high school in Central California, Houk has added significant size and strength, becoming one of the premier defensive line prospects in JC football this past year. What really stands out about Houk’s rise is that he did it all in one year, dominating numerous games despite being a freshman.
- Houk, who originally signed with Southern Utah out of high school and spent a year as a redshirt, will have three (years) to play three (seasons). Had he stayed at COS for another year, he could possibly have had double-digit offers from around the country. But a chance to play for Nevada, one of the Top 11 ranked teams in the country, at a position of need was too much for the talented Houk to turn down.
- Houk actually spent a large part of his childhood in the Reno area, growing up in Carson City. So signing with the Pack is somewhat of a return for the 6-foot-4, 251-pound prospect.
