Evans ready to go for Carter
He’s done the work, waited his turn, and now former Leuzinger high school star Jerry Evans is good to go. The 2008-09 All-CIF Selection and All-League honoree was cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse and will arrive at the University of Nevada this weekend. SilverandBlueSports caught up with the former L.A. area standout for the latest.

The Wolf Pack move to 12-7 (4-2 in the WAC) after an 88-82 victory on the road against struggling Boise State team, which now sports a 9-11 (0-7 WAC) record. Nevada was once again led by WAC Player of the Year candidate Luke Babbitt’s 29 points and 10 rebounds–just another double-double for the talented sophomore.
With the end of every season comes a healthy amount of change and uncertainty. Players graduate, leave early, commit and de-commit. Coaches ride the carousel, some are let go, some are promoted, some move on to climb the ladder of big-time college athletics.
For the second consecutive season, Nevada has mined another solid offensive gem from the always talent-laden Bishop Manogue program. A year after signing and developing tight end prospect Stephen Jeffers, the Pack have added Connor Talbott, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound O-Linemen who is a lifelong Nevada fan.
SilverandBlueSports caught up with the newest member of the Pack this weekend, Bakersfield CC wide receiver Rishard Matthews during his official visit to Nevada. A 6-foot-1, 205-pound special teams standout, Matthews is hoping to bring a spark to the Pack’s kickoff and punt teams during his first season.

He was patient, hard-working and loyal, and in the end, it all paid off for Southern California native Aaron Bradley. The two-sport standout from Cerritos (Calif.) Gahr high school has done everything asked of him off the field, including keeping his training rolling along too. Now, the Pack have a substantial vertical threat in the Pistol offense.
RENO, Nev. — Luke Babbitt scored 19 points and Armon Johnson added 17 to lead Nevada to a 76-68 win over Idaho on Saturday night. Babbitt also grabbed nine rebounds for the Wolf Pack (11-7, 3-2 WAC), while Joey Shaw finished with 15 points and Brandon Fields scored 14. Mac Hopson finished with 16 points to lead the Vandals (8-8, 1-4 WAC). Steffan Johnson had 13 points and Luiz Toledo added 12.
