- Reggie Coates – Nevada DE – 2011 Freshman – 6′1, 232
- Nevada picked up one of the top defensive playmakers in Southern California’s 2011 class when they received a verbal from Coates. A 6-foot-1, 239-pound rush end who could make an immediate impact on the Wolf Pack defense, Coates was one of the first prospects in the class to hold a Nevada offer. He also considered Illinois and Washington, who had also offered him.
- Coates dominated a number of games this past year, and racked up 61 tackles for one of the top defenses in Los Angeles. The Celts went 8-4 and beat a one team in Clovis West, which featured fellow Nevada recruit Kendall Brock, a two-loss team in Dominguez, plus garnered victories over Taft, Notre Dame, Loyola and Los Alamitos.
- “Especially after this trip, it showed me where I could fit in with this defense and how I would just come in and blend in with the school,” Coates said. “I think it would be a great fit for me.”
- Coates earned 61 tackles during his senior season, plus 4 sacks. He also plays basketball for Crespi. Coates’ lead recruiter was Scott Baumgartner, and he’s the second Celt to join the Wolf Pack program in consecutive seasons. O-Line prospect Mike Mitchell arrived a year ago.
