Class of 2010 – Nevada Verbal Commitment
- One of two mid-year 2010 class JUCO additions to the Nevada defense from Palomar College in San Diego, Faddis will join his Comet secondary teammate Chris Boudreaux in Reno for the spring semester. Like Boudreaux, Faddis has terrific feet and laid plenty of hits on opposing receivers this past season. He actually walked-on to the Palomar team, but earned a starting spot after the first three games.
- Faddis, a first-team All-Southern Conference and All-Region III selection, was the Comets’ starting strong safety and Boudreaux the starting free safety during the 2009 season as Palomar went 8-3, advanced to the Southern California championship game and was ranked No. 8 in the nation by the J.C. Grid-Wire.
- Boudreaux and Faddis were 1-2 in tackles for the 2009 Comets. Faddis, a Ramona High School product, finished the season with 66 tackles (34 solo), four tackles for losses, one sack, one interception, 13 pass break-ups and one fumble recovery.
- “Bubba and I basically built our friendship on the field, because he’s a year ahead of me and he’s from Vegas and all. But we are good friends, and we’re excited about coming up here together now. I’m mid-year too, and I’ll start school in just a week or so now. So that right there is exciting. Also getting a chance to compete with him for jobs here, you know, that’s an awesome feeling. This is all I ever wanted. I really like Coach (Ken) Wilson, he was my lead recruiter and I’m real thankful to Bubba because he’s the one who told Coach Wilson about me. Everything kind of sprung forward from there.” – Dean Faddis
- Faddis has four years to play three seasons.
