- A year after landing junior college players like Rishard Matthews, Dean Faddis and DeAndre Boughton at the mid-year signing period, the Wolf Pack snared one of the more versatile players we’ve ever seen in McNeal. This future Wolf Pack linebacker, who is a freshman transfer and stands 6-foot-1, 230-pounds, played this past season at Santa Monica College.
- “Yeah, I’ve played all over,” McNeal laughed when asked about all the positions he’s played. “I came into high school as a quarterback, but the coach left and they moved me to receiver and running back. Then I played linebacker and tight end when I got a little bigger, but returned kicks and played some D-end whenever they needed me. After high school, I came to Santa Monica College and it was really more of the same.”
- Despite being a freshman at SMCC, McNeal led the team in tackles with close to 70 stops and added 6 sacks from his outside linebacker position. On offense, he had 12 carries and caught 12 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. McNeal also threw a touchdown pass, and started the second to last game of the season for the Corsairs.
