- Looking for an impact player on the defensive side of the ball? Try Peppard, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound prospect who will quickly become one of the eldest DE in Nevada’s core next year after the departures of Dontay Moch, Ryan Coulson, Jared Jackson and Mike Andrews.  Heading into fall practice, it appeared as if Jackson and Andrews were still juniors, but both DE’s lost a year of eligibility after their service at their former junior colleges was deemed to be longer than originally thought.  And with a few other younger DE losses mixed in, a player of Peppard’s talent was greatly needed in the 2011 class.
- Peppard has been compared in many ways to Coulson, one of the biggest rocks in the Nevada defense the past two years.  He brings a consistent approach every game, but can also make an impact as a pass rusher and run stopper.   We expect him to hold down one of the starting DE jobs immediately in 2011, or at the least compete with a handful of other DE newcomers for the job.
- Peppard had an impressive prep career, and has played for a member of the famed Mazzotta coaching family for nearly his entire career. Frank Mazzotta Jr. was his prep coach at La Habra, and Frank Mazzotta Sr., who has been the head coach at Cerritos College for over three decades, has been his coach the past two seasons with the Falcons. He’s also played for Tom Caines, one of the top defensive coordinators in junior college football.
- After recording 32 tackles and 4 sacks as a freshman at Cerritos, Peppard stepped it up during his sophomore season and had 45 tackles and 6 sacks. He was a rock on one of the best defenses in junior college football the past two seasons, posting a record of 18-4.
