Indeed we are. And I'm more than likely going to be on the "cautious" end of the spectrum -- I was lucky not to get a $300 ticket on the drive up to the 2009 BSU game.

Anyone have experience driving from Portland to Eugune? I am looking at doing it on gameday. Leave around 7 and by googles calculations get there around 9. So, my best guess with some traffic is 930. Is my prediction wrong?

Getting out of Portland is a bit of a snarl, and a lot of fans will be heading south for the game, but it shouldn't be a problem once you get out of the city - say past the 205 interchange.

I've always wanted to do it, but never have. According to Google it's less than 1hr from the turnoff just north of Klamath Falls to the park on the lake. Then it's only about a half hour back to hwy 97 using the North Entrance Road to hwy 138 to hwy 97. Since that hits hwy 97 a half hour north of where you left it the whole detour should only delay you 1hr using Google's usually conservative estimate. I wish I'd known that as I would have done it a long time ago.

Fastest route - Take 139 out of Susanville, past Eagle Lake, through Klamath Falls then hwy 58 to Eugene. There's a lot of 55mph, but if you're willing to speed you make great time on that route. Figure 6.5 hours (not the absurd 8hrs according to google maps) but I've done it in 6. Even if you drive slow you should make it in 7 hours. Great scenery. The only place you normally need to be careful is from just south of Klamath to Chemult Oregon. LOTS of police through there.

If you don't want to risk a ticket and want a leisurely drive just head over to McCloud from Susanville and take I 5N. The speed limit on I 5 in Cali is 70 I think, and you can make good time in Oregon just going the flow of the traffic. It's mostly 65mph between Susanville and McCloud IIRC. Watch for police in the Hat Creek area just east of McCloud and all the way to the Oregon border on I 5.

Have a safe trip.
Thanks SIS! I am going to paste this on the dash!

I should be there in time for the bar event.

If anyone is flying out of Denver to the TT game, I just got $29 Southwest tickets each way into Amarillo. Lubbock tickets were like mid-$300's, so a really short drive for a $70 non-stop round trip is a no brainer.
