Default 5 or 6 OOC Games

Next season 2011 will have 5 OOC games available and and in 2012 possibly 6 OOC games available due to the Hawaii road trip.
My Question is what does Nevada do with that extra game/s? 7 home games would be great, 3 years in a row having 7 home game should help financially.
Also who should they try to play?

Hawaii road trip is this year, not next, we have 13 games this season, will only be able to have 12 next season...

That's correct and Boise will be out in 2011 leaving 7 conference and 5 out of conference.

Back to the original question, I'm too lazy to look up who we have scheduled those years but I think it all depends on that. If we have some PAC 10 teams, it might be a good idea to have that extra bye week in 2012. If we schedule mainly MWC teams than it might be better to do all 6 OOC games. As far as opponents, my highest priority would go to PAC 10 and MWC teams then next highest would go to any big name school willing to do a home and home and will bring a large crowd to Mackay.

In 2011, the schedule looks great, competition-wise:

Sept. 3 vs. New Mexico
Sept. 10 at Oregon
Sept. 24 at Texas Tech
Oct. 8 vs. UNLV

2012 is a work in progress:

Sept. 8 at Washington
Sept. 29 at UNLV

I'd prefer they schedule another decent AQ team in 2011, but they may not, due to the road games already set. Looks like it will be 3 home patsies in NM, UNLV, and a yet-to-named FCS team.

2012 is still wide open, so they have a real opportunity to make a splash if they can schedule well and win some games. Down the road we have ULCA, Arizona, Oregon, New Mexico, and San Diego St. on the schedule.

In 2011, we play at Oregon and Texas Tech, and host New Mexico and lowly UNLV. September 21, and Oct 1 are bye weeks.

In 2012, we play at Washington, California(?), and UNLV.

There is no place for a warm up game in 2011, so it better be a middle of the road MWC team, or a bottom Pac-10 team.

I'm not sure if we play AT Cal starting in 2012, but once again we open at a Pac 10 school opening week, so no room for an easy game.

For those of you contemplating a premium membership (and without divulging anything), the guest on the most recent episode of the Howl shared some insight as to what's going on with Nevada's future schedules.

No chance of it happening but I wouldn't mind seeing a home and home with UNC. Heck i'd go out of my way to make a trip to Reno for that. UNC would probably request a 2 for 1 deal, which I don't think treats Nevada fairly. Could be wrong though, 'Heels have had some strange home and homes through the years.

We're getting home and home's from Texas Tech, Oregon, and Arizona, I think we could convince them otherwise. But I also remember hearing travel costs would be an issue in considering future deals.
