What do Tiger Woods and baby seals have in common? They both get clubbed by Norweigans.

The biggest shame was that Tiger was just a mail box and a power poll away from hitting for the cycle.

Way to steal my thunder Seal. I guess I deserved it...

What is the difference between a golf ball and an SUV? Tiger can drive a golf ball 400 yards.

LOL...I've heard a ton of these...Can't "Careless Driving" describe Tiger's whole '09 Tour season?

Do you think it will be weird when Tiger hits a shot and people yell, "Get in the Hole?"

It's so surreal to see his whole career ***avel after cultivating his image for so long. I saw him play at the '08 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines (including the playoff round with Rocco Mediate) and it was without a doubt the most amazing sporting event I've ever seen. And I'm a guy who doesn't consider golf a sport! He just seemed untouchable in person -- nothing could phase him and he was always in control.

He was the closest thing golf had to a rock star, so it probably shouldn't be a surprise that he apparently slept around like one.

You're joking, right? It's definitely a sport and one of the hardest at that...

No doubt it's hard -- I play it quite poorly myself. :p I just view it as more of an activity than a sport.

I love playing golf, but I think you can make a case for it not being a sport. Just because something is difficult, that doesn't mean it's a sport. I mean....juggling is hard, so........???

Golf is a competitive, athletic and very strategic "activity" which by my book.... is defiantly a sport. I also agree that it is one of the very hardest.

I didn't say it was a sport because it was hard, did I? Nope, sure didn't, I think you can make a better case of it being a sport than not a sport, especially at the high-level amateur and professional ranks...

Yes, but you didn't say why you DID think it was a sport either, so I extrapolated. :D I'm not saying golf isn't a sport, I'm just playing devil's advocate....just because it's fun. Battle.borne taught me that.

I love golf, but there's an entire class of competitive activities I don't consider sports. Golf, bowling, horseshoes, darts etcetera. I love golfing (quite poorly at least 15-20 times a year) but as much as I think soccer is mind numbingly boring, it's more of a sport than golf. But I watch a lot of golf and won't waste much time on soccer.

Soccer AND Golf are most definitely both sports, I know you're not into soccer, but you have to watch the World Cup this summer to get a taste, it truly is amazing. Anyways, I don't consider a weekday 9-hole beer golf league to be a sport, but at the collegiate level and high-level amateur level when you're carrying your bag, in the heat, it definitely is a sport, because then we're talking about the physicality of it. Just my take, though I'm a little bias towards it...

It is near the Christmas break of the school year. The students have
turned in all their work and there is really nothing more to do. All the
children are restless and the teacher decides to have an early
dismissal.

Teacher: "Whoever answers the questions I ask, first and correctly can
leave early today."

Little Johnny says to himself "Good, I want to get outta here. I'm smart
and will answer the question."

Teacher: "Who said 'Four Score and Seven Years Ago'?"

Before Johnny can open his mouth, Susie says, "Abraham Lincoln."

Teacher: "That's right Susie, you can go home."

Johnny is mad that Susie answered the question first.

Teacher: "Who said 'I Have a Dream'?"

Before Johnny can open his mouth, Mary says, "Martin Luther King."

Teacher: "That's right Mary, you can go."

Johnny is even madder than before.

Teacher: "Who said 'Ask not, what your country can do for you'?"

Before Johnny can open his mouth, Nancy says, "John F. Kennedy."

Teacher: "That's right Nancy, you may also leave."

Johnny is boiling mad that he has not been able to answer to any of the
questions.

When the teacher turns her back Johnny says, "I wish these bitches would
keep their mouths shut!"

The teacher turns around: "NOW WHO SAID THAT?"

Johnny: "TIGER WOODS. CAN I GO NOW?"

I usually watch some of the world cup. It's still long stretches of keep away with brief moments of excitement...followed by a shootout.http://server308.serverquality.com/~sbs/forum/../../%7Esbs/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

World Cup matches are usually much more defensive than champions league matches and more boring. Group play Vs Aggregate score also plays into this. Sometimes you will get a team that is down 2-3 goals in aggregate really go for broke and play fast break soccer. These matches are a blast and they should find a way to bring this style into play more.
