If the BCS places BSU and TCU in the same game someone should be publicly flogged.

Beside the fact that I think TCU is better than TEXAS (especially after what I saw tonight) and should play Alabama for the national title, placing two non-AQ teams in the same bowl is a chicken____ move by the BCS. Not to mention that game way played last year in San Diego . . . I can see them doing it to make sure they don't have to BCS conference teams losing. That would really hurt the BCS logic.

I Agree. This would just be a horrible move.

It would remind me of the NCAA tournement in 07 when they placed us, Memphis, and Creighton in the same pod. I can't recall exactly but I remember there being at least one other matchup of top mid-major schools. The slimy reasoning of course was to prevent another year of numerous mid-majors making a serious run ala George Mason.

I would be for the public flogging in any case. Those BCS bigwigs could make a killing on a pay-per-view showing them getting a few lashes.

Won't happen. We'll have TCU vs GT, and Boise vs some Big 10 team. They are not stupid, they don't want a non-BCS team winning at all.

Might want to rethink that statement there BTP, they are that stupid and it did indeed happen.

Is the word "stupid" or "shrewd"? There's a big difference.

On the contrary, the BCS knew exactly what they were doing: send the little guys invitations, but stick them at the kid's table and let the "grown-ups" keep to themselves.

Total coward move nonetheless.

COWARD!!! The BCS has shown itself for what it is, a GOB network of "traditional" powers . . . this move shows exactly how big of a sham the BCS is. Children's table is exactly what they think of non-AQ teams.

Can't say that I'm happy about it, and there's no doubt about the system being rigged. There's no rational explanation for why the Fiesta would pass on an Iowa team that's going to bring twice the fans and twice the television sets unless there was a backroom deal.

I wanted to see donkey fan have to put up or shut up about the Big Ten. OTOH, I can't feel too sorry for a fanbase that pissed and moaned for two weeks about not wanting to go anywhere other than the Fiesta because their 28K/year alumni base has to have a bowl within driving distance.

I hate the matchup as well, but they didn't have to chose BSU. In fact I don't think a few years ago they would have chosen BSU.
