for repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell. As a guy who served in the military under Clinton, when this came out, I thought it was a ridiculous policy. I personally knew 4 or 5 homosexuals that had to keep their sexuality hidden or be charged as a criminal. They served honorably and made no advances on any staright people as far as I know. It's 2010 for crying out loud. The time has come to step out of the Dark Ages.

It's a complicated issue with the military and I've been against it for at least right now. I'm not going to get into any arguements about it, though.

A whole new class of REMFs is going to be created. I don't care so much about their sexual preference...just shut up and do the job. Don't ask don't tell is the way I treat heterosexuals....it's not just for gays...it's just a good general standard of behavior. I don't need to know who or what you're essin and effin.

The fact the senate is wasting time, during wartime no less, on subjects like this is laughable. The Secretary of Defense should be ashamed of himself for spending his time on matters which effect 1-3% of the military population, over issues like our oppressive rules of engagement which affect 100% of enlisted men and women.

I don't care about this either way. I'll defer to the judgment of those in the military making the decision. However, just because this was passed by the senate, does not mean it will go into affect. There is something like a 60-day waiting period - then the military has to conclude its assessment before enacting anything. If the assessment says to go forward, then so be it.

I do no agree with the last sentence at all. It has nothing to do with stepping out of the dark ages.

OK, it has everything to do with subjecting all persons, belivers or not, to whichever book of tall tales (Bible, Koran, etc.) that some, not all, choose to follow.

I'm hoping the REMF comment was tongue-in-cheek (which I say in a tongue-in-cheek fashion). However, I do agree that all employees should keep their private lives out of the workplace.

I believe the services are ready for this change. Although there may be some difficulties in the combat probability coded units, this won't be much of a big deal.

Interesting. I had no clue about the law that was currently on the books. I am now surprised that this hasn't all been about separation of Church and State. Congress could have really used that info in overturning DADT.

Black/red is George, white is Rummy, which leaves Dick is the one in the middle...yep, about right.

Just one step closer to having Arnold as president.

And most have little or no tolerance at all for other's "God given right" to their own freedom of religion.

Those idealogical labels being applied to Obama is just funny. Tell me you don't watch and pay heed to that jackass Glenn Beck. Do tinfoil hats come with Pack logos?

Hey, you're talking to someone whose church (Episcopal) is so relatively liberal in some things that we no longer have a place at the family (Anglican Communion) table.

That is exactly what I am talking about. You must think and act exactly like the others or you will be cast aside. I'm pretty sure Jesus would have been accepting of all people regardless of their beliefs or lifestyles. And one would think that those who claim to follow Christ would be more like Him.
