I thought that Boise's new "Combat" uniforms for the VT game were the most butt ugly unis I saw all season.

Is the design done in house or by the Evil Empire?

I'd like to see Nevada go to silver unis for both BB and FB, it would - to me anyway - be a nice break from the usual.

Given what they had to work with (I'm no fan of that horrible orange and blue), I thought they did a pretty good job with the BSU uniforms. I thought VT's flat black helmets were great too. I can't wait to see what they come up with for Nevada......when do they reveal those designs?

With all do respect, I don't think you get it, just being selected for those uniforms is a HUGE honor!

+1. I would be stoked if we got pro combat jerseys, even if they put ears on the helmets and used real wolf fur.

That's really cool, I didn't know Nike worked much with the universities on design, especially some of their smaller clients. Any idea how much input they normally take from teams?

I'm in the minority, but I actually think Oregon's unis are really cool. Not a big fan of the shoulder wings, but I like the color schemes and variety. I haven't actually seen a combo I didn't like (yes, I'm including the neon inferno yellow).

I don't love them and I don't hate them, sometimes they look very cool (my favorite being the silver helmet, white shirt, silver pants combo), but I can't stand with their football and basketball team when they have the player name the same color as the uniform so you can't read the name on the back of the jersey.
Disclosure: I absolutely LOVE Nike. Been wearing the swoosh since I started breating and will never stop until I'm old, unless of course they come out with old man Nike shoes with Velcro!

Agreed. I don't know if I've ever been happier as a sports fan than when I put on my first Nevada shirt with that swoosh on it. I have Mark and Brad to thank for that.

I get that being selected is big...doesn't change the fact that VT's looked cool and theirs looked like plain jane semi pro outfits. I'm not saying all of them looked bad...just Boise State's. The VT unis looked like someone designed them, the BSU ones looked off the rack.

I like nearly all of their uniforms too. And it's popular with recruits too.

I'm from Northeastern Nevada in the middle of BSU/Nevada territory. I had a BSU fan tell me today he thought the Broncos could model their quick rise after Oregon. Playing in the loudest stadium, with the most expensive locker room, with the coolest uniforms and the nation's largest sports brand essentially writing blank checks whenever needed must not be a big deal. It's really not difficult at all to understand why that football program has emerged. They're not going anywhere.

Me too, when they opened in '06 and they were the ONLY place you could get any Nike or even Adidas stuff with the Wolf Pack logo on it, been hooked ever since. Side note, I was SO excited when Nevada got rid of Adidas and moved to Nike in '08, never cared for that three stripe company!

Pretty much 100 percent. Coach Ault wanted a certain look and the guys who handle the uniforms put about 4-5 different looks together, he made some changes...and then they are submitted.
The only question really left is names or not...and I'm thinking not, but I'm not sure just yet. ~AWP

Glad to hear this. I don't care for our current uni's. I thought I liked them at first, but I'd take our last one's over these. Something about the gray stripe curling down the shoulder pads that I don't like

I have two design degrees and 20 years experience as a working professional... the current unis are fine, with one notable exception: the "1" is completely botched in all the numbers. These numbers were created by a hack with no understanding of typography. The 1's stroke width is about 30% too wide to match the other numbers. Just take a look and you can see that they are "visually" WAAAY too wide. It hurts my eyes to look at them!
So I just repress.

I would love to go back to the blue tops and silver bottoms at home, combine the "Pack" script logo from long ago on top of the uni's we had a few years ago (the ones resembling USC) and I think we have something going.
Edit: deleted the image, for some reason it stopped working.

Don't think we want to drop the sport wolf with the recent success; it's part of the brand recognition now. Maybe a few years down the road you could mess with it, or just go script for select games. Agree with the classic USC look, though I'm not sold on the silver pants. The striping would have to be just right.

It was a nice touch. Maybe have a small sport wolf on the back in place of names.

all the unis, nothing to out there, for the Donks just looks like the "home" version of the pro combats from the VTech game, TCU looks like they just added a black jearsey to the pro combats they already had.

Wait, you have degrees in design? And think our uni's are fine? Ok, you convinced me :) not really
I especially don't like our home uniforms. And ya, I've noticed the 1's are screwed up
I'm really hoping they get rid of the wide gray stripe curling down the pads. I like the chest area design though.
I'd take the USC look a likes over these all day

I actually don't even think they are the home version of the previous pro combats. The pants aren't the same and the jersey doesn't appear to have the Bronco head on the sleeve. They almost just look like their normal home jerseys with pro combat technology. TCU's look exactly the same as the pro combats unveiled at the beginning of the year.

Found one of Burleson- early sport wolf days. Lacks the resolution to clearly make out any star.

One with Trevor Insley, old school script. Still can't make out a star.

Everything I've been able to find indicates that the last time they wore the Nevada patch was about 2001 or 2002. The addition of pants striping did away with it.
