Went for 2 with 2 seconds left. That play will be SportsCenters Play of the Day.

Hope this doesn't mean an 8-5 Fresno team gets OUR at large bowl chances with close losses to Wisconsin and Cincinnati and a win over Illinois. 8-5 Fresno or 8-4 Nevada? Hands down nationally, the bowls would take Fresno IMO. National name.

Illinois was only a 3pt favorite at home and only won 3 games all year. I can't see this game making any difference considering the beating the Pack gave the Bulldogs.

This wasn't a big time win, but they did it with style.

I wish I could agree with you but I can't.

It's crazy how many times people find out Bo plays college football and they ask, "what team?"

When I answer, "Nevada" the usual response is something like: "Oh. Is that D1 or D2 or what?"

Then when I say, "They're D1, there in the WAC conference." That usually gets a response like, "Oh yeah, that's Boise and Fresno right?"

I made a crack about Fresno not winning the WAC in that other thread but honestly, I don't think anyone outside of the WAC gives a crap about who wins the WAC unless it's an undefeated possible BCS situation. I doubt anyone outside of the WAC realizes that Fresno hasn't finished better than 3rd place in the WAC since like 2003. They hear Fresno and remember the scares and upsets is all.

I think the rest of the nation will think about a win over a bad Illinois and close games against Wiscy and Cincy more than they will about us beating them badly.

Funny because I was just thinking, I wonder if Fresno could be told by the WAC that they will go to New Mexico.

Not sure if it can work that way or not?

I think we would get first choice, as we are the second place team. I know the WAC would ask us to allow Idaho to go to boise, if Boise gets a BCS bid. but after that I would think the WAC would use the order of finish to allow the teams to select thier bowl games, if the teams were given the ability

I sort of agree.

If Hawaii were to win and an outside bowl were going to offer a WAC team I think they'd be more likely to pick Fresno, but not because they think them a better team. Bowl committees know their football. It would be because Fresno fans will show up in numbers far greater than Nevada fans would provide.

I agree, though, that the casual football fan doesn't know anything about the Pack. I've created a small pocket of informed Washingtonians with my geeky obsession with the Wolf Pack, but outside that the only thing they remember is that we beat Gonzaga twice in basketball. They don't even remember the loss to Nevada in football unless I spend a few minutes reminding them.

I've got a few friends that are in ESPN fantasy leagues and they just love your brother, believe me.
