Another one of those Christian bands. :D

I'm old school and haven't been able to get Nu-Metal at all. Way over done on the vocals. Heavy doesn't have to be the loudest, the meanest or most shocking-vulgar. Less is more and when you nail heavy, you know it.

I prefer the old Priest, Sabbath, Maiden, Scorps, very early Def Leppard, etc. Much more inspiring to me....not cliche and one dimensional.

Musical taste is a personal choice. I watched all three vids and respect what you enjoy and I even like the Scorps very much, but for myself there is no greater gift to rock n roll than Lynyrd Skynyrd.

+1

I was just talking about metal. For regular rock-n-roll, I like a lot of other bands.

Skynyrd rocks. Last week I found a nice stash of live Lynyrd Skynyrd CDs at a old friends house, along with other great music. No matter who the band is, I always prefer live music.

Seeing how somebody brought up Skynyrd, I have to tell one of my favorite jokes of all time. Q: What has 500 legs and 10 teeth? A: The front row of Lynyrd Skynyrd concert.

I used to like their music to a point. Then I went to one of their shows. They have the ugliest fans in rock and roll. The term trailer trash had a brand new meaning after going to that show at the Hilton Outdoor Amphitheater. Mullets, not a tshirt sleeve in sight, chain smoking beer swilling, all were on display. I swear all we needed was some fried spam and macaroni cheese. It was bad. I found myself looking around asking, "There can't be that many guitar stores in Reno. Where do these people work?" Believe you me, in my 10+ years in radio, I have been to alot of shows and nothing compares to a Skynyrd crowd. It's a 2 1/2 hour episode of Cops.
