In hindsight, reading about how the guys were having a great time on the trip, and yadda yadda yadda, probably wasn't the best indicator of a focused team. I guess SMU realized it was business first, and a vacation second.

What did SMU do all week? Did they get restricted to their rooms after practice? I bet they took in some sights as well. It just shows that our guys were given to long a leash while over there and could'nt handle it.

Hard to disgree with that. It's sad because the actions of 3 players likely distracted the team enough to get them out of their gameplan which resulted in them getting beat by an inferior team. Certainly though, June Jones is a much better coach than Ault at this stage in their careers. June knew how to get a team prepared while in Hawaii, and apparently Ault thought his guys were more mature and responsible than they really were. It was just a cluster all the way around!!!!

We need a lockdown corner like Joe Garcia. No offense to AW and the other talent evaluaters, but the secondary talent the coAches have recruited the past two seasons is just not starter material. Scheme issues or not, guys have bad technique and terrible instincts.

I have never in my life seen such piss poor pass defense on any level. Hopefully if any of you have kids that play secondary you never let them watch.

Here's a concept. Come into town and play the game first, then have the vacation and activities AFTER!!

The teams that come out and visit Hawaii at the end of the season usually fall victim to this. Last year, #14 Cincy came in totally flat from goofing off too much and it took a total Hawaii collpase in the 4th to lose a 17 point lead and Cincy won the game. There are many other examples from the past. Vacation and football don't mix.
