Per previous threads, quite a few dislike the noise that accompanies Street Vibrations and thus the event itself. I can appreciate disliking the noise, but I don't mind it. I personally like the event. I like it even more with the revenue they bring to town. Just remember how important the event is when you have that hog next to you on the road... it will last only a few days.

==============

Street Vibrations will bring an estimated $33.9 million to the region's economy this week, says its producer, Roadshows Inc. As many as 30,000 folks could be in town for Street Vibrations, the the fourth-largest motorcycle event in the nation. >>> NNBW.biz

The only thing that ever really bugged me was when you're trying to drive next to a solid mass of motorcycles the length of 10 continuous semis. It would make the normal flow of traffic noticeably more congested by cutting down on the normal gaps between cars.

But visitors bring revenue, and revenue creates jobs, so I never minded too much.

I agree with RW here. The only other thing I would add is the ones that split lanes drive me nuts. They don't obey the rules of the road, half of them don't look when they pull out of a parking lot etc. The risk for other drivers to be involved in a fatal crash goes up during the event simply because of this. I can't wait to see what happens with the construction on 395 north this year, the lanes are narrow enough as it is, some dumb biker is going to try and split them and just get destroyed by someone in a full size truck, I can see it now.
