I just thought I would throw this out there for any iPhone users who use hotmail accounts for email. Hotmail (thanks to Microsoft) was the one email service that didn't sync with iPhone and was generally a pain in the ass to use, but last week, MS finally switched to Exchange Active Sync which will let you get push notifications and sync your email, contacts and calendar on an iPhone (and other phones). I've never used MobileMe, so I'm not sure what other purposes it serves, but I'd bet that means you can cancel your MobileMe subscription for $100/year.
I just deleted my hotmail account and set it up again as a new account using the following settings:
Server/URL: m.hotmail.com
Username: Full e-mail address (such as: address@hotmail.com)
Domain: Leave this blank
SSL: Enable this
Certificate Accept the SSL certificate when prompted
Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks All can be enabled
