Chukar Hunters

I was out near Austin this weekend blue grouse hunting. On the way back to Reno we did some scouting for chucs. It's looking really good. The best in 3 years from what I've seen.

I prefer to be called a chukar chaser.

According to this forecast it seems to be about the same as last year. I have heard from other people that they have seen a ton of chukar on other hunts. Lets hope they count these projections like Nevada counts attendance.

I spent 16 days in the field scouting for antelope and haven't seen that many chukar in years. Tons of young ones running about as well. I think everyone is going to be very happy if the weather cooperates.
