Renoites! Planning my birthday dinner and I need your help! Last year I had dinner at Bertha Miranda's and everyone loved it. The food and drinks were spectacular, reasonably priced and there was enough room for all 25+ of us to sit at one long table (or several pushed together). This year, I'm looking again for something that fits that criteria but I need some recommendations. Those that have been around the block, help a sista out. Thanks!

The Santa Fe Hotel is a really good Basque restaurant near the baseball stadium, and if you've never had Basque food before you should know that "family style" is what the Basque do best.

I shamefully admit to have spent a few years in Elko County, I'm familiar with Basque food. I'm also a vegetarian

Firkin and Wolf (at the Summit) might be a fun place. They would have the ability to sit 25+ off to the side in somewhat of a different room.

Or, to back a sponsor on the site - give Cadillac Ranch a shout.

And here I thought you were alright. I'll have to question that judgment.

I think I might choose Firkin and Wolf soley based on it's name. I guess I'll have to win you over with my undying love of the Pack. Perhaps you can put my dietary preferences behind you and focus on that! :p

Come on woman!!! Its named Wolf for a reason!

And from what I hear they pour A Nitro Smithwicks (pronounced Smit-icks for you under educated coors likers!) and it is ferkin AWESOME. They way English beer is meant to be poured.

Ok, I have had a few of them there! I lied about hearing it!:D

Yeah, I've heard good things about that place.

Has anyone ever been to Wild River Grille? It looks awesome with the patio seating, but I wonder how the food is?

The Wild River Grille is excellent, good food, right on the river and a nice atmosphere.
The new Great Basin down by the Mall is nice too. Of course they have good beer, and the food is good too, They ahve a big room in the back that could accommodate your group.

Im a dedicated carnivore and even do some part time BBQ catreing gigs. That being said, Wild River Grille has a veggie wrap for lunch that is absolutely wonderful. Im not one to order sissy food like that but a friend I was dining with let me try hers and it was fantastic. If the rib cookoff didn't start today i might have run down there and got me a veggie wrap. I haven't been super impressed with their entire menu but the atmosphere is really nice, especially outside.

I always take out of town guests to Wild River grille and they always come away with a good impression of Reno. That being said I find that there is about a 5 dollar per plate atmosphere charge. this does not bother me because I'm aware of it when I go there but it is enough where someone could feel slightly gouged. If you likes Berta Mirandas I would say go to El Adobe cafe the food service and Margaritas are top notch for the price.
