After reading CA's remarks on Vai, I get the impression that if they don't really miss him during the bowl game - that is if his replacement has a good game - Vai could be gone. Any chance of that happening?

Sad to say but it is very possible. Especially since Running Back is easily the most expendable posistion in football. And even more so with us because of the talent of the guys behind Vai. Lets not forget a few years ago when Vai left the team briefly.

Ault's decision on Vai will not be based on whether Vai is replaceable or expendable, but the circumstances of Via's actions.

True but if Ault is gonna send a message to his players about academics, cutting Vai who plays running back where the guys behind him are just as good if not better would be a lot easier then cutting some other players, like Colin.

Especially since as a Sr., that forces Vai to a D-II school or worse if he wants to keep playing.
I have it on a pretty good word that Vai will definitely be back next year. this could be one of those things that happen to a kid that helps him mature, then springboards him to a great senior year.

Ault's decision on the future of a young man can never be "easierr", but I agree cutting Vai would be easier on us Fans knowing the quality of his backups. When I heard the news about Vai, I was very disappointed, but if it had been Colin I probably would have gone into a deep depression.

I would be surprised if Vai wasn't back next year. He got into great shape this year. Some of you forget on that td run against Boise, he pretty much walked away from Boise's defense. He really has developed into a top notch running back.
