Rumor around campus today is that one of the award winners at the football team dinner won't be elligible for the Hawaii bowl. This would be a big blow, so I hope it's not true. :mad: Grades should be posted tomorrow, so any official announcement would be shortly thereafter.

Yeah, bummer. The player name has already been posted in the Den and we're talking about it there.

Heard through the grape vine that it is Vai. Bummer, but really it's just a chance for the other guys to shine. Mike Ball anyone?

If this is true we should all run down and bet everything thats not nailed to the floor on SMU + the pts. Luke AND Vai out will be a big test.

And yet every RB we have left has still had a 100 yard game this season. i'm not worried in the least.

Well if any team could handle it, it's probably us. Nice to still have 3 talented rushers in the stable. We'll see.

Our line leaves such nice holes, even the players have said their mothers could run through them. I'm not worried at all. Ball had 5 TD's against UNLV.

Major bummer for Vai, guess he won't even get to go to the islands. Got to hit those books, though. I would like to have been a fly on the wall when CA found out about it.

Is he ineligible for the bowl game (Did not make his grades ) or was he suspended one game by Coach because he did not meet team standards?

Vai let down his entire team if in fact it's true. Pretty pathetic to think he would put out such little effort on his books while putting out Nevada back effort on the gridiron.

I can't wait to see if it's Randall, Mark or Ball that starts. IMO, Randall deserves the ball more than Lampford or Ball. He's a quiet producer with a great first move who is highly underrated!

According to the AD's bowl info guide, Mark and Ball are the next two backs on the depth chart.

Burning an entire redshirt season because of one player being suspended for one game seems a little much. He'll be fine, methinks.

The one way I see these absences being a bad thing is if Lampford and Mike can't hold on to the ball. SMU's defense is sub-par at stopping drives the hard way, but they've forced plenty of turnovers.
