I was analyzing the two offenses for a blog entry going up soon and a few things jumped out at me. For all we've heard about SMU's passing attack and what it could probably do to Nevada's secondary, their passing game is actually comparable to Nevada's. Yes, they obviously throw more often and have thrown for more yards in general, but there's not a lot of separation between the two teams on a per-catch basis:

Passing Yards/Game: Nevada 159.3, SMU 267.2
Pass Attempts/Game: Nevada 22, SMU 35.9
Yards/Catch: Nevada 12.3, SMU 12.6
Passing TDs: Nevada 20, SMU 20

In fact, one might surmise that SMU's passing attack is what Nevada's might look like if they threw more often than they do. And that's without factoring in the number of interceptions each team has thrown: 14 for SMU compared to just 5 for Nevada.

Another totally random/weird thing I noticed? Neither team has converted a single onside kick this year: Nevada is 0 for 3 and SMU is 0 for 1.
