It's interesting to note that one of worst teams in the MWC and the worst CSU team in quite a few years beat the snot out of Nevada this season.

Unfortunately, both teams have a fugly loss on their resumes this year.

SMU dominated Washington State but our QB (at the time) had a breakdown and threw 4 INTs to give the game away. We still would have won had it not been for a horrible pass interference call late in the 4th quarter - our defender didn't even touch the receiver but the Pac-10 refs were not going to let WSU lose that game.

Colorado State didn't beat Nevada that day -- Nevada beat themselves. When you're penalized for 150+ yards and turn the ball over 5 times (at least some of which were completely unforced) the other team isn't beating you as much as you're handing them the game on a silver platter with parsley, then asking them if they'd care for seconds.

I'm not a guy who tries to put down other teams for the sake of making my favorite team look better, but there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that this current Nevada team would beat CSU by 28+ points in a rematch.

I watched that game and I have to agree that you guys lost that game. 2 of the interceptions were "bad bounces" and the pi call was atrocious but not unlike many our team received this year.

I doubt that anybody but the most dyed in the wool Rammy would disagree with you on the play it again spread, Backer. As for your other point, Nevada definitely played like poop that day, but the Rams lined up on the other side of the ball and didn't self destruct. I see no reason to sugar coat that fact or make excuses for the loss by pointing out which team is better now. On that day, the Rams were the better team.
