The President and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff are calling for its repeal. What say the masses?

I don't see the point of it even being an issue. I have yet to meet anyone who even cares either way on this issue. It's a non-issue.

but when it comes right down to it. Gays have the right to fight for their country if they want to.
Heres where i get into trouble and yes its wrong and sexist but I don't care.
Women have no business being in battle. Fighting side-by-side with men... uh-uh not in my Army maam!

The church going "righteous" care. Their homophobia knows no bounds. I'm sure they think that the predators will be lurking in the showers. Personally, I could care less. They are already serving every single day.

I've got no problem with it as long as they keep the political correctness crap out of it. Unfortunately they won't do that and we'll have lots of lawsuits vs the government over discrimination, sexual harassment and more. Things will flip from 3% of the soldiers having to be careful what they say and do around the majority to 97% of them having to be careful around a small minority.
Who was the comedian that did the bit where he joked:
Why is it if I grab a girls butt and she punches me in the nose I got what I deserved, but if a gay guy grabs my butt and I punch him in the nose I'm a homophobe?
Overall though, I think the SOP will still be nobody asking and few telling. Most people don't really care they just don't want to see it in action.

They don't "fear" gays. They just don't approve because it violates their beliefs and they consider it a sin. Gay marriage loses in popular votes even in the most liberal places. Not from fear but from loathing and that's every person's right.
As an anology, Christians aren't infidelity-phobes either, they just find the practice sinful and bad for society. That too is their right. Nobody has to approve of other's behavior and there's nothing wrong with them expressing their disapproval in public or in elections.
And just to be clear I have a bisexual nephew (or maybe he just had a 2 year "fling" with homosexuality, I really don't pry) and it didn't lessen my opinion of him at all, in fact I defended him and his choice. But I never wanted to see them making out.

I don't care if someone is gay, but I can see it being a problem if some gays are hitting on other guys, especially when they're assigned somewhere. This is something that people in the service or have been in the service should decide because they know all the potential issues that could be a problem. Anything that distracts or lowers morale which impacts and prevents a fighting force from being 100%, I'm against.
But if it works out, great. That'll be an excellent opportunity for Chatter to join the military. :)

I don’t see anything wrong with the don’t ask don’t tell. If a punk rocker can be discriminated for rogue behavior why can’t gays be held to the same standard.
I think gays should be allowed to serve in the military, why not have all gay units or create a waiver form stating you wouldn’t mind serving in a gay unit if you are straight.

This is a big mistake. They should extend 'don't ask don't tell ' to every behavior not directly related to work. Wouldn't that make the work place better. I don't have to hear about the baby showers, someones kids birthdays, your cruise you just took. You know...the stuff I don't care about but politely listen until I can walk away. Man, "d.a.d.t" would be great!

Filling in for Manders again today. This will be the main topic of the show. Plus, I want to talk about the Tebow anti-abortion ad and the gay dating site ad.

Why don't you just permanently fill in for Manders? :)
