Class of 2011 Verbal Commitment

- When you talk about a decisive, direct and full-steam ahead prospect in the 2011 class, E.J. Galvez is your guy. A two-way standout who earned All-League and All-CIF honors during his outstanding junior season, Galvez was also named the Lineman of the Year in his conference.   As a junior, Galvez posted 16 tackles and 2 sacks in a very limited role on the defense, but added approximately 50 pancakes as an offensive lineman.

- He projects on the defensive side the ball for Nevada.

Coaches Comments

“He is everything you want in a football player. If you watch his film, he played last year at 235-pounds, and when he’s at Nevada, he’ll play at 275-280. E.J. is a warrior, and just so that everyone knows what everyone thinks about him as a player in our league, the coaches named him the MVP.

“He’s also very versatile, and could play either way at Nevada. He’s really a Coach Ault type player too. There’s no shortcuts with E.J., and he’s tough. He’ll look you in the eye. He told me the other day that even if Michigan came in and offered, he’s still going to Nevada. That’s his word and that’s that. He’s a real focused and real loyal kid.” – Mike Moschetti, the CIF co-Coach of the Year who led the Matadors to a stellar 13-1 record last year, including the IX Section Championship.
