Tony Knight believes in his heart that the Nevada Wolf Pack’s pistol offense was made for him.

Chris Ault was expecting more out of his Nevada Wolf Pack defense this year.
“I don’t think we made the progress we made last year,” said Ault, whose Wolf Pack will take on Southern Mississippi in the Dec. 24 Hawaii Bowl. “This year we kind of stagnated a little.”

The Nevada Wolf Pack football team was nearly headed back to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco later this month.
“The Kraft Bowl was in the conversation up until the last minute on Sunday,” Nevada athletic director Cary Groth said Monday. “It really came down to the wire.”

In the universe we currently inhabit, LSU and Alabama will square off for the second time this season in the “national championship game.”  In another, they may do the same, but not after besting 30 other contenders.  All 32 teams of our mock playoff were revealed on our inaugural Selection Sunday.

Nevada bid a fond farewell to its seniors and the WAC conference with a 56-3 drubbing of conference foe Idaho.
