One year after landing the Orange County Player of the Year in quarterback Cody Fajardo, the University of Nevada sent out their first offer to a 2011 Orange County prospect. For Lorenzo Devers, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker at Orange (Calif.) Lutheran high school, the Wolf Pack were first on the board.

It’ll take less than three clips of Venice (Calif.) offensive athlete Teondray Caldwell to remind you of one individual already on the Nevada roster; running back Mike “The Wrecking” Ball.  Caldwell has jumped so high on Nevada’s radar that he recently pulled down a Wolf Pack offer.

Two of the more prominent California prospects in the national 2011 recruiting class received offers this past week.  While the offer was another in the long line of offers from school’s all across the country for one, the other was a huge surprise Devon Blackmon, arguably the best player in the Inland Empire.

Fig James, who stands 6-foot-1, 195-pounds and is well regarded as a physical and faster cornerback, signed with Nevada just a few weeks ago.  If he’s cleared to play this year, the Cincinnati transfer would give the Pack secondary an enormous and immediate lift.

Galvez is your guy.  A two-way standout who earned All-League and All-CIF honors during his outstanding junior season, Galvez pulled the trigger today after the Nevada coaching staff offered him a scholarship.
