In our final “Impact in the WAC” football series, we breakdown Nevada, San Jose State and Utah State. Few teams in the conference surprised us more than the Spartans and Aggies, but Nevada, led by JC-transfer Rishard Matthews, could once again have the most impact additions.

The future starts now for Spanish Springs linebacker Luke Arciniega.  A talented member of the 2010 Nevada recruiting class, Arciniega was a potential greyshirt candidate since National Signing Day. However, the 6-foot-2, 225-pound all-League standout who racked up a cool 100 tackles last year will begin his Pack career in just a few days.

Another player who is set for Nevada’s upcoming senior day is Highland Park (Mich.) prospect Lanier Logan. A talented and strong running back/athlete that could project at any number of positions, Logan is a potential greyshirt candidate.

He was one of the first players targeted by the University of Nevada coaching staff, and even landed an early offer from the Pack.  A 6-foot-1, 230-pound LB/DE, Orange (Calif.) Lutheran high school prospect Lorenzo Devers is headed north to visit Nevada for the Pack’s upcoming Senior Day.

Over the course of this past recruiting cycle, one prep prospect that continuously stood out was Highland Park (Mich.) athlete Lanier Logan.  SilverandBlueSports featured the talented and extremely strong playmaker who performed at a very high level on both sides of the ball in the state of Michigan.

Expected to be one of the top junior college prospects in the 2011 class to watch, Kolby Arendse instead will be taking his game to Nevada immediately.  SilverandBlueSports spoke with the Burlington (Wash.) native to find out why he chose to play for the Pack now.

Arguably the top prospect at the recent University of Nevada team camp was Southern California native Beau Boyster, a class of 2012 offensive line prospect who recently transferred from Temecula to St. John’s Bosco in the rough and tumble Trinity League in Orange County.
