The accolades continue to pile up for Nevada Wolf Pack freshman pitcher and Reno native Tom Jameson.  It was announced yesterday that Jameson was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Baseball Team. Additionally, senior Westley Moss was the first player drafted in the recent MLB Draft.

Freshman Cullen Mahoney, playing near his hometown of Phoenix (Ariz.) in the WAC Tournament, crushed a dramatic one out, 2-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to push the Wolf Pack past New Mexico State, 5-4.

After losing to San Jose State 6-0 in the opening game of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament the Nevada Wolf Pack baseball team found themselves in a tight elimination game with Louisiana Tech on Thursday morning in Mesa, Arizona.

Before they banged out a 10-5 win to close out their home schedule and conclude the WAC regular season, Nevada baseball honored seniors Kevin Rodland, Shaun Kort, Jesse Rasner, Chris Garcia, Tyler Graham, Daniel Tinlin, Westley Moss and Beau Witsoe. After splitting the first two games of the series on Friday, Nevada came back with dual-threat junior Brock Stassi on the hill with his 3.43 ERA on a snowy Saturday afternoon at Peccole Park. Stassi did not disappoint.

The final home series of the season for the Wolf Pack kicked off Friday afternoon at Peccole Park as the Silver and Blue squared off against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (26-25) with several Pack seniors playing in Reno for the last time.

First baseman Shaun Kort and do-it-all junior Brock Stassi propelled the Wolf Pack to their 31st win of the season on Tuesday at Peccole Park by defeating the Aggies of UC-Davis, 8-6.  It was Kort’s 226th game appearance, making him number one on the all-time Nevada record books.
