Jerron Wilbut 150-1Nevada fans have now heard of Chicago area prospect Jerron Wilbut. A class of 2012 standout who plays at Downers Grove South, Wilbut already holds a Nevada offer, plus interest from various schools in an out of the Chicago area. For a young man who just played his first varsity season, how high is the ceiling for Wilbut?  You be the judge.

We’d say Wilbut’s ceiling is pretty high. He is ultra-athletic with a very nice feel for the game, and when he gets in the lane he is likely going to score.  Wilbut knows how to draw contact, play above the rim and score from the perimeter.  He’s also got a strong, yet lean build that is very impressive.

Check out his first ever video highlight reel that we put together to see how the Nevada recruiting target and class of 2012 standout looks on film.

We’d like to thank Downers Grove South head coach Jay Baum for providing us with the DGS season highlight reel.  Look for a follow-up prospect video of Jamall Millison, another DGS player, in the next few days.

    Two words: “Smooth and WOW!”

  2. Stuck In Seattle says:

“Smooth” is just what I was thinking. Sweet, high release and very creative in traffic both passing and scoring. Is he really only 6′2″ as listed by Scout?

  3. Posturedoc says:

Sign him up! That’s an impressive player. Shoot, I’d take him on my college team as a HS junior, that sophomore video is so good. He’s got great court awareness and, as my namesake already stated, he’s smooth. How tall is he? I’m guessing 6′4″ and still growing.

Playing on the Chicago Bull’s court….. How cool is that for a HS soph……. He may see that court again one day…

There is something about the way he moves around in the air with ball around the rim that reminds me a little bit of some guys that used to play in the nba…His shot reminds me of Jordan Burris. I really like what I see and would be excited to see him in the silver and blue.

Offense from defense! How many steals were there that ended in a basket, just in that short clip? Love it!

I wonder what he thinks of the Pack playing UNLV, New Mexico and SDSU in conference games?? Can’t hurt.
