Nevada loses shootout to BYU
In one of the more entertaining offensive games of the season, BYU was just a notch better than the Pack in the Cougars 110-104 victory on Tuesday afternoon in the third round of the Las Vegas Classic. The Cougars shot a sizzling 63 percent from the floor, and buried 27 of 28 free throws to end Nevada’s four-game winning streak. Junior point guard Armon Johnson had a team-high 30 points, plus 5 assists, while the sophomore frontcourt tandem of Luke Babbitt and Dario Hunt poured in a combined 41 points and grabbed 15 boards in a losing effort.
